Diddi Special Riding Pad $1400.00 - $1600.00 Designed by the famed Icelandic trainer Sigurbjörn "Diddi" Bárðarson, the Diddi saddle pad has been designed to maximize performance by focusing on the horse's comfort and range-of-motion freedom. The Diddi pad is a treeless saddle, so riders have closer contact with their mounts. Accordingly, horses ridden with this pad are more sure-footed, reach greater speeds, and are less prone to stress injuries. The Diddi pad is available in Buffalo and Makili leather. -------------------------------------------------- Care instructions: • Use only vegetable oil to clean and condition the Buffalo leather. The Makili leather is treated with Teflon, so it should need very little cleaning. • For heavily soiled leather, it is important to let the dirt dry naturally, then brush off with a stiff brush. The leather can then be rubbed with a damp cloth using a mild detergent and warm water. When leather is dry, it may be brushed with a suede brush to restore it to its original condition. |

Barri Saddle $2800.00 In Nordic mythology, Barri means "the dashing" or the "brisk one." Also designed by Sigurbjörn "Diddi" Bárðarson, the Barri saddle is an excellent all-purpose, versatile saddle; tested by many Icelandic riders and given high marks as a training, competition, and trail riding saddle. The 'feather spring' saddle tree is produced in England and is made from natural materials. Made from four layers of laminated wood and reinforced with laser clenched steel springs, the feather spring trees are of unquestionable quality. Found in all sections of the saddle tree, as well as in the rear panels, the flexibility and spring effects of the Barri saddle ensure that the weight of the rider is evenly distributed on the horse's back. Because one of the functions of a saddle is to act as a shock absorber between horse and rider, it is important that the spring effect is found throughout the saddle, not just in portions of it. Luc Childéric Saddle $4000.00 The DI Luc Childéric saddle is custom made for the rider and the Icelandic Horse. These saddles are very well balanced with outstanding close contact qualities. The saddles are available in either calf or buffalo hide. These saddles are built on ‘short pointed’ trees that allow great freedom in the shoulders. The trees are made of laminated beech wood that carry a 5 year guarantee. The panels are filled with a resilient foam that offers incredible closeness and comfort. The DI Luc Childéric saddles are available in medium and wide trees, and with custom flap options if necessary. |
